Hi Pak Kodok,
Thank you for that wonderful explanation. Knowing you in person and your respectful positions in a few companies, I am sure you have valuable opinions on running an organisation.

Is this weekend to meet RP still on? Do let me know and we will do some catch ups. I need some expertise and more insights from you on certain issues.

Allow me to chip in.

In an organization, the CEO is responsible for all matters and of course he would have the luxury to channel down to his deputies. From there, the CEO will have to make sure his deputies do his work and meet the requirements or needs of the company.

How would one to act responsibly when the CEO does not act like one? That is why choosing a CEO is very important and you cannot chose anyone for the sake of being a CEO.

Sorry but I am not a member of any cat club but I believed the principle is the same.

Hope that I could shared some insights.

To Anonymous,
I need to correct you here. It is not the responsibility for a Secretary to send the minutes physically to the Registrar of Society but the PRESIDENT. The President must ensure all documentation is all in order. The Secretary is only prepare the minutes.

I agreed with you that a Secretary must be honest but please bare in mind that the same principle also applies to the President, the new Secretary, Treasurer and other office bearers as well.

At most time, running a cat club is a voluntary work and anyone can resign at anytime he/she wants. Therefore, it is the President's responsibility to make sure that the handover is smooth and in order ((f the new Secretary had been elected) and not waiting till 6 months down the road and only then struggling to get work done.

About bad-mouthing, well, in my opinion, being humans, I do not think we can avoid that but usually as the English proverb says, 'There will not be smoke if there is no fire.' If all will just mind their own business initially, this bad-mouthing issue would not have started in the first place. Don't you agree?

Furthermore, this is a free-world and everyone is entitled to say what they want and say what they think is right or essential. Most important is that would you able to accept constructive comments?

Anonymous, you sounded to be from a committee member of a cat club. (Correct me if I am wrong!)

for the post of secretary of the club, it would help if the person chosen is somebody that can be trusted to send the minutes of meetings to the registrar of society to ensure its validity. make sure the person is honest in doing their job properly, including not disappearing suddenly, resigning from his/her post and later on appearing again badmouthing the committee he/she had worked with previously and stating comments and ideas discussed in meetings while still in committee as his/her own.
