Hi mirjam,
If I get you correctly, the so called knot that you mentioned is what we called as a 'kink', an abnormality due to 'split bones' at the end of a tail.

In cat shows, pedigree cats with a 'kink' will be disqualified but allowance is given for cats competing under Household Pet class.

Hope this answer your query

Why do Malaysian cats have half a tale? Usually with some kind of knot on the end?

Help me solve this mystery! Thanks :-)

I am a visitor to Malaysia and have enjoyed my stay but I am deeply distressed by the number of stray cats often in poor condition. Is there no way children can be educated in the care of animals. This may encourage people to take theses strays off the street and have them sterilised.
Sarawak is in desperate need of a cat shelter.
I am in Miri, where I have been impressed by Bettie's veterinary clinic which sent a driver out to help me with a sick cat I found scrounging at a restaurant.
While in KL last year I worked at PAWS and urge cat lovers to try and initiate a similar organisation in Miri.
Sincerely

I missed this event. Was it good? What about noise from shops etc?

Scoop and Au would loathe being at a cat show. It's not in their character.
